The best way to build your list of subscribers from scratch, by contributing to joint venture giveaway events.

REGISTER A DOMAIN NAME

If you haven’t already done so, you will need to register a domain name (preferably www(dot)yourname(dot)com) and build your own Wordpress Blog. Whilst this isn’t essential for contributing to a giveaway, you will need a blog if you’re serious about forging a career in the Internet Marketing niche.

You will also need your own space on the internet in order to offer free gifts for your subscribers to download so you may as well get a blog anyway.

I’m not going to go into setting up your blog here, but if you want my advice, I would recommend you use Namecheap and Hostgator to register and host your domain.

Registering your domain with Namecheap costs as little as $8.81 for the year. This price includes an easy to find discount voucher of 88 cents.

“88 cents? Big deal!”

No it’s not a lot but would soon add up if you were to buy multiple domains.

Enter “Namecheap coupon” followed by the current month and year and Mother Google will find your discount code for you.

If you need assistance in setting up you blog then do as I did and follow Tommy McLaughlin’s Blog Set Up Tutorials

HOSTING

I use Hostgator and have absolutely no complaints with their service. I signed up with their “Baby Croc” package, which costs around $90 for the year, which allows for the hosting of unlimited domains for the year.

You are welcome to try another hosting service, but do they have as good a standard of customer service as Hostgator? Have they got a live instant messaging service, with very knowledgeable representatives? I would find out beforehand if I were you.

A 20% discount is available right now by entering the coupon code, “TOPHOST”. If this doesn’t work by the way then ask Mother Google for help as there usually is a discount coupon available.

UPDATE THE DOMAIN NAME SERVERS

“Change what Cliff?”

So you’ve got your domain and hosting sorted. But because you’ve used 2 different companies in this process, you will need to change Namecheap’s Domain Name Servers (DNS) over to Hostgator’s.

Hostgator do have a great tutorial video for this. Follow the link at the bottom for more information.

AUTORESPONDER SERVICE

It won’t be long now before you can start building your own list. But how are you going to mail to them and store their details? An autoresponder, that’s how.

Aweber offer the most professional service in this field in my opinion. They’re not the cheapest but they are the market leader for a good reason.

A subscription to Aweber will set you back $1 for the first month, followed by about $16 per month.

GIVEAWAY EVENT PRODUCT

You’re very close now, just hold on a bit more. You now need a product for the giveaway so that you can start listbuilding.

If you haven’t got your own product, there are plenty of free and low cost eBooks available to use on the internet. Look for products with MRR (Master Resale Rights) or PLR (Private Label Rights).

If you decide to get your own product, then take your time finding it, as there is a lot of rubbish out there.

SQUEEZE & DOWNLOAD PAGE CREATION

I could try to explain the process, but my friend and former Alex Jeffreys student, Paul Hooper, has created a fantastic video on this very subject. Find your way to it by clicking below.

So there you have it….your step-by-step guide to setting up as a contributor to a giveaway event. Take your time, get it going, and most of all have FUN!
